Being in the first LL2 battalion that was trained in 2007 in Cape Town, I thought no more LL2s would ever be trained. Contrary to that more have been trained in the last three years and just few weeks ago another intake was trained to reinforce the fight against social challenges through the magical hand of sport.
Hosted by Zambian partners (EduSport, SCORE and Sport In Action), 2010 Zambian Leader Level II course was a success. The training conducted by Sergeants Paul Otieno originally from Kenya but now heading CHRISC in Rwanda and Edwin Wasonga from MYSA in Kenya, 20 young men and women were taken through a great training with concepts revolving around the Action Learning Cycle. The training that was held for the first time in Zambia had other Sergeants from Zambia observing the course in the names of Kizito Chileshe from Sport In Action who was trained as LL2 in the first group in 2007; Patrick Mweshi from EduSport Foundation also trained in the 2007 group as well as Noah Mabutwe from SCORE Zambia who was trained in 2008. This training Commander was Major Bheki Skota from CDRA Camp in Cape Town. This Officer has been involved in the Kicking AIDS Out! Leader Level 2 trainings since 2007.
It was such a nice time experienced by young men and women who were drawn from many parts of Zambia where Zambian partners are implementing their programmes.
“What a blend of new troops to be deployed on the battle front-a group of young, hard working and energetic Zambians who have promised to use all the acquired Knowledge to stand for their fellow youths”.
“Its one time I will never forget-a time where new links were established on the shores of the Mighty Zambezi River, behind the smoke of Victoria falls and just in between the ponds of Kaazmain. So cold a place but the best and suitable venue for such training” said one participant.

Conclusion
Once heads and efforts are put together-many wars would be won. The Zambia partners managed to come together and successfully hold a first Zambian LL2 training. Held away from home it was well attended and facilitated workshop. Indeed our family has grown; many soldiers have been trained to push on the war front. We urge all LL2s trained this year to receive the knowledge, read materials you received, preach what you read and practice what you preach.
Let’s give support to our young troops-Carol small and Milambo. Well done Officers and thank you Bheki for Zupepe. If we win the war we have just gone to, we shall return to the waters of Zambezi on that cruise and enjoy the Shadrick clap.
