When the autumn comes, Hue is really quiet and serene. The heat is replaced by the heavy, long, and sad rain. Anyone who has come to Hue at once, cannot forget this harsh climate.
A four days’ Kicking AIDS Out! (KAO) Network curriculum orientation workshop, begun from the 22nd to 25th of September 2011. Strong wind, heavy rain had come along with storm no. 4. We thought that the plan would be changed. However... to our surprise, Thua Thien Hue Department of Education and Training (DOET) and The Football Association of Norway (FFAV-NFF) had carefully organized the opening ceremony which was attended by the head of the two Organisations, the instructors, Ian’s couple..., and, 25 participants with enthusiastic face and cheerful heart coming from 9 districts and Towns. After this important ceremony, the workshop was officially opened.
We were amazed by the interesting contents facilitated by 3 talented instructors;Mrs. Huong- FFAV’s Project Officer, Mr. Lan, Physical teacher in Quoc Hoc High school, and Mr. George- the representative of Kicking AIDS Out! Network, and the way they cooperated so well that we could all get information quickly. George’s shared information helped us to have some valuable experience for our own manual.
Every issue that came out in the workshop was discussed enthusiastically, every one of us had the same goal that at the end of the workshop,we can have our own action plan for our locality, our clubs and for our self- development, then in the future, when FFAV phase out, we will integrate Kicking AIDS Out!Concept in Football activities effectively. Besides the working time of the workshop, we had the fun time during tea break with Mr. Vu-Technical Expert of Thua Thien Hue DOET, Mr. Thinh- Physical teacher in Art Centre, Mrs. Nga- The Principal of Phu Mau Secondary School and Mr. Toan, the Technical Expert of Huong Tra Sub-DoET telling funny stories. The ice-breaking games made everyone dance so beautifully and flexible, thou the dance from George which was in African character were really difficult. As for this, it needs to be reminded of nice dance, which was worth seeing as a real dancer of Thanh, an officer of Thua Thien Hue DoET. It was hard for everyone not to praise and admire.
Although it involved lot of work, we always felt comfortable as it was Kicking AIDS Out! That we worked with. From those games, partly, we achieved certain small findings of some issues, which need to be discussed for the workshop’s contribution. However, the games and activities released our tension, hardness, and worry of rainstorm weather. We had lunch closer to the workshop venue which pleased everyone’s taste. Sharing Meals, sipping some drinks, sharing stories from work and private life which made it really as a “Life skill family”. What a great warmness!
To us perhaps, any hard task would become an easy-to-solve problem. That was because we always had the enthusiasm, self-awareness to work and solidarity already. Moreover, we were profoundly equipped with a great depth of knowledge and skills by FFAV and we have matured after each training course. The end of the workshop came so quickly after that everyone felt sad and was unwilling to leave. All trainees look forward to seeing each other again in other training course or football festival.
All of us have the same determination bearing the task in mind even when relaxing we will make the best efforts to make football – for - all activities more and more practical and make sure for the future: Fun – Healthiness – Helpfulness – Safety.
