How to become a member 

The application process for becoming a member is outlined below.

Please be advised that NIF, by the Secretariat, is free upon its own discretion to terminate and cancel the application process for the applicant at any stage during step 1 up to and including step 5 of the application process. Such termination/cancellation may not be appealed or brought before any courts of law, or constitute grounds for compensation, economic or otherwise. 

Step 1:

The applicant submits:

 Application form.

Feedback within two (2) weeks. 

Step 2:

The applicant submits the following documents:

  • Zone VI organisational capacity assessment tool / framework (for organisations not familiar with the tool, it will be provided and explained by the Secretariat).
  • Audited accounts/financial statements – previous two (2) years
  • Strategic Plan of the Organisation
  • Constitution

Feedback within three (3) weeks. 

Step 3:

Representatives from the Kicking AIDS Out Secretariat assess the applying organisation.

Feedback: within four (4) weeks

Step 4:

The applicant submits:

  • A master plan for how to implement Kicking AIDS Out and how pay for minimum one Leader Level 2 instructor to facilitate initial training of Peer Leaders
  • Needs and costs should be included 

Feedback: within four (4) weeks

Step 5:

The applicant agrees on and submits the Kicking AIDS Out Network’s:

  • Memorandum of Understanding
  • HIV and AIDS Policy
  • Child Protection Policy
  • Brand Guidelines

Step 6:

Kicking AIDS Out Secretariat sends information about use of the logo which is described in the ‘brand guidelines’. The logo, educational material and other necessary information will be sent on e-mail. Date and venue for a peer leader course is agreed upon between the organisation and the Kicking AIDS Out Secretariat. LL2 Facilitators conduct an initial peer leader course for leaders/coaches in the organisation. 

All templates and documentation needed throughout this process will be provided by the Kicking AIDS Out Secretariat.
