Women PLAY THINK AND CHANGE

Mrs. Ireen Kunda Second Lady of Zambia was present on the sports day celebrating International Women’s Sports Day under the theme “Women Play-Think-Change” in Lusaka, Zambia.

NOWSPAR celebrated the International Womens day in Lusaka with more than 10 Ministers wifes, the second lady Mrs Ireen Kunda and the acting Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Sports.

The day was full of sports, entertainment and educational opportunities.

The speakers spoke about the rights of women and girls in sports. "Women have to take their righteous space in government". The female leadership that is build through sports is key to create involvement of women in the planning processes in all areas of sports. Continous advocacy through inititives like NOWSPAR is crucial to achieve more presence of women in all areas of sports in Zambia.  

Acrobats from Kaunda Square was entertaining in the opening of the event.

The Zambian first ever Female National team of Cricket was showcasing their skills. In the foreground leaders from Edusport and Sport in Action was conducting Kicking AIDS Out movement games with the theme of girls play-think - change.

Girls soccer had the highest attendance.
